for Surrey & Metro Vancouver contractors

Your business number, answered by an AI receptionist built for contractors.

It answers the calls you miss while you’re on site, books the job into your calendar, and chases the quotes that go quiet. Installed in about a week.

From $1,500 CAD, one time · live in about a week · optional care plan from $99/month. You keep the number, the data and the accounts — cancel any time.

The demo needs no signup. The fit check is a short form — I read it myself and reply within one business day.

try it before you talk to me

Talk to the receptionist yourself. No form first.

Pick the worker and the trade, then type what one of your customers would actually say. You’ll see the reply, the details it captured, and the summary that would land on your phone.

  • Six workers — reception, quotes, follow-up, invoices, reviews, proposals
  • Nine trades, so the answers use your vocabulary and not a generic script
  • Every booking, text and CRM update in the demo is simulated, and labelled as simulated
  • No signup, no email, nothing gated

start where it hurts

Which one is costing you the most right now?

I'm missing calls while I'm on site

The phone rings when both hands are busy. By the time you listen to voicemail they've already called someone else.

What we install

An AI receptionist on your existing number — answers, takes the details, books into your calendar, texts you.

the difference

Two things quietly cost you the most work.

Neither is a skills problem. Both are what happens when a two-person office is also a full-time trade.

The phone

  • Calls ring out while you're on a roof
  • Voicemail nobody checks till 8pm
  • The keen ones just call the next guy

The quote

  • Quotes sent, then silence
  • You meant to chase it on Sunday
  • You already did the site visit for free

Once it’s installed

  • Every call answered, in your business's voice
  • Follow-up goes out whether you remember or not
  • Replies land with you, not in a system you can't see

what I have actually built

Three systems I run myself.

No client logos and no testimonials — I don’t have clients yet, and I’m not going to invent them. What I can show you is software that is live right now, most of it holding up my own businesses.

Ironwood Grounds

Live

Live · my own fence company

The problem
I run a cedar-fence business in South Surrey. On a post-hole day nobody answers the phone, and a quote that goes quiet is a job someone else does.
What I built
The back office first: a quote form that emails me and fails loudly instead of silently, and a self-hosted AI phone receptionist that I put on the real business line in July.
What it connects to
Python · pipecat · Asterisk · VoIP.ms · a quote form wired to email
How it was tested
A 7-suite check runs over the site before anything ships, and the receptionist has its own automated test suite.
Who controls it
It is my number and my line. On 27 August I took the AI back out of the call path while I rebuild the call flow — which is the honest state of it today, and the reason I will not tell you an AI receptionist is finished the day it answers its first call.

COITracker

Live

Live · my own product

The problem
Small businesses that hire subtrades have to keep every vendor's insurance certificate current, and they find out it lapsed when something has already gone wrong.
What I built
Upload a certificate, confirm the fields it read back, then get reminded 30, 14 and 7 days before it expires. Two scheduled jobs do the chasing.
What it connects to
Next.js · Supabase · Stripe · Resend · two daily crons
How it was tested
A large automated test suite, including a set of deliberately awkward PDFs the reader has to refuse rather than guess at.
Who controls it
Free for the first handful of vendors, then a flat monthly price.
Open COITracker

PayNudge

Live

Live · my own product

The problem
Service businesses send an invoice and then feel rude about chasing it, so it sits there.
What I built
Reminders on day 1, day 3 and day 7 that stop the moment the invoice is paid — so nobody gets nagged after paying.
What it connects to
Syncs with Jobber, QuickBooks, Square and Stripe · scheduled jobs
How it was tested
Its own automated test suite, run before each deploy.
Who controls it
One plan, one flat monthly price in CAD.

Everything else on this site that looks like a customer story is an illustration, and it is labelled as one. When there is a real one, it will have a name on it.

Pavneet Singh, founder of Handbuilt AI

the one builder

Built by Pavneet Singh, in Surrey, BC.

I’m one person, and you deal with me from the first conversation to the day it goes live. There is no account manager, no offshore team, and nobody who will hand your project to someone who has never spoken to you.

I run a cedar-fence company in South Surrey, so I know exactly what a missed call on a Tuesday afternoon costs — that is why I built an AI receptionist for my own line before I offered one to anyone else. Alongside it I build and run two live products: COITracker and PayNudge.

I work in TypeScript, Next.js and Supabase, with Stripe for payments and Resend for email, and I test on real calls before handing anything over.

What I won’t do: invent a customer, quote a number I didn’t measure, or promise you’ll never miss a call again. I’ll tell you what a build does, what it doesn’t, and what it costs to keep running.

how it works

Three steps. Usually live in about a week.

  • Your accounts, your data, your number
  • Export any time
  • Cancel any time — it keeps running

  1. 01

    Find the leak

We go through your calls, quotes and the admin that eats your evenings, and put a number on what's actually leaking.

  2. 02

    Install the workflow

Built around your real services, prices and calendar — inside your accounts, with your phone number. Tested before it answers a single customer.

  3. 03

    Measure what changed

A plain monthly note: calls answered, quotes followed up, work recovered. If it isn't earning, we say so.

the questions people actually ask

Straight answers, before you call.

It answers in your business's voice, says it's an assistant when asked, and hands anything awkward straight to you. You approve exactly what it says before it ever speaks to a customer, and you can listen to the calls. If it isn't better than voicemail, it isn't worth installing.

the last thing on this page

The calls are still going to voicemail while you read this.

Every one of them dials the number already on your truck, your invoices and your yard signs. That number is the thing worth fixing — not replacing it, not adding a second one, just making sure somebody picks it up.

Surrey and Metro Vancouver. Remote everywhere else in BC.

What happens after you click

  1. We read it the same day and reply by email — no deck, no discovery process.
  2. We look at your call log, your quotes and your calendar together.
  3. You get a number for what's leaking and a fixed price to fix it.
  4. If there's nothing worth installing, we say so and you owe nothing.

Not sure yet? The calculator above runs on your own numbers and asks you for nothing.
